The race did not go as planned and George struggled to get through the last 3 laps of the National Championships. Very New Jersey distance runners have run well. I think the heat (close to 100 degrees!) is hitting the northeasterners pretty hard since we haven't seen much weather over 65. It is sad to George go, but as we sat at dinner at Natty Greene's last night, we all realized that George has a new start. I made sure he knew that next year will be a good year to be a runner with no pressure. Pressure to be the best is something he has felt since the end of froshy year!
The rest of the meet is going well. Nicolas Sparks stopped by our timing tent to say hi. He wrote some books, including 'The Notebook'. I tried to watch that movie one time...Reabold got his autograph 'for his wife'. I have to head over to the stadium to time the 4 x mile. Hope all is well in Jersey! Keep running!
